Talking Teen Wolf: Really they’re just messing with us at this stage

Last week was massive – we had the promo and the MTV Movie Awards and things were happening, like really happening, all over the place. This week they’re just messing with us. We got an extended promo, some more pictures of pretty people starring intensely at nothing, some symbols and a little bit of audio but other than it was just you’re usual run of the mill, tweets from the set, ridiculous vines and regurgitated spoilers from sources like EOnline. That and the rest of the world have begun to realize just how awesome Dylan O’Brien is.

First off let’s talk about Dylan O’Brien… because he’s landed the lead role of Thomas in The Maze Runner, the latest dystopian YA novel to get the Hollywood treatment. I’ve not read James Dashner’s novel (I’ve ordered it so I’ll get on it asap) so I can’t say all that much about the part except that it is a massive step for Dylan’s career.

Just think Teen Wolf fans – we all get to be that wanker that says “I liked him before he was cool”. I know that it’s hard to share but we love Dylan and we want great things for him so let’s not get our knickers in a twist about it okay?

For those of you worried that the film might interfere with Teen Wolf’s production Zap2it’s Carina MacKenzie had this to say:

When news broke, fans were concerned that O'Brien might have to go AWOL from "Teen Wolf" for a while in order to pursue his big-screen dreams. Don't worry, wolf pack! That's not the case -- our "Teen Wolf" insider tells us that Stiles won't be missing any episodes. In fact, Jeff Davis and the powers that be over at "Teen Wolf" were so supportive of O'Brien doing "The Maze Runner" that they moved the schedule around and did everything they could to make sure he could take the part. They'll be taking a short break from filming before they dig in to the second half of the season -- just enough time for the new project. (x)

As to whether or not Dylan’s rising star will effect Stiles future beyond Season 3, we will just have to wait and see.

That’s not even all the Dylan news for the week because pics from his guest role on New Girl have be released and he looks adorable.

Also a new trailer for The Internship was released. If you’re wondering whether or not we are going to survive Dylan O’Brien’s meteoric rise to stardom then the answer is no but you know what, I’m pretty sure it will worth it.

It’s been over a week since the promo was released and there has been plenty of time for speculation and analysis. The fandom has come up with some crazy ideas (especially since the extended promo reveal a substance – probably blood maybe the black goo that happens when werewolves get hurt – coming out of the drowning Scott’s mouth). But most people seem to agree that it's Scott killing the child to become the man.

There was some confusion early on as to whether or not it was a wolf or a bear featured in the promo (although I don’t know why people thought it was a bear considering the show is called Teen WOLF – come on guys, you’re better than this). The confusion was cleared up after we saw the extended promo and the Teen Wolf Tumblr introduced us to Shadow… the WOLF featured in the promo.

Shantal Rhodes, who I talked about last week, was back on set this week which is exciting because not only was she brilliant in her bit part last season but she was hilarious in her Not Another Teen Wolf Pod Cast interview.

While we’re on the topic of Shantal’s time on Teen Wolf she spent a bit of time with a controversial guest. YouTube star Tyler Oakley divides fans: apparently you either love him or hate him, whatever you think you can’t deny that he’s popular. Teen Wolf released pictures of Oakley on set last week with Shantal. Officially we don’t know much more than that. The Teen Wolf wiki seems to think that Tyler will not actually appear in Teen Wolf Season 3 but was instead shooting some promotional material.

Speaking of promotional material we have some more promo shots! Finally Isaac gets a bit of love, which is good because I was starting to worry.

Damn boy I could cut myself on those cheekbones!

It wasn’t just Isaac that got some love we also got: Aiden (Max Carver), Cora - pictured - (Adelaide Kane), Deucalion (Gideon Emery), Ethan (Charlie Carver), and Kali (Felisha Terrell).

Yup it’s more pretty people starring intently at nothing but I tell you what; it is nice to see some more badass ladies in the mix (especially considering this week we are morning the loss of Erica). I know some of you are still angry because vagina but come on, those ladies are looking good.

Let’s talk about the Teen Wolf Tumblr for a bit shall we because they have been toying with our fragile emotions all week. First off we got the Alpha symbol with the words “Something’s coming. Something bad.” All I have to say about that is really? You don’t say? Because I didn’t get the idea from all of the teasers and the fact that the tagline is “This Might Hurt”. I thought that Season 3 was going to be all sunshine and Sterek sex… is that not accurate?

Just to rub salt in the wound they gave us this little script sample?

All right – let’s tone it down shall we. I get it… this is going to hurt like a bitch! In order to remain sane I am going to assume that the pack decided to go to a movie but Scott drove too slow and they missed the beginning. Then Stiles was all: “we can still make it” but Lydia’s like no: “We’re too late. We’re too late!” That’s what happened and I refused to accept anything else.

Then they gave us the audio from the Season 3 promo – telling us to pay close attention. Naturally the fandom went crazy with all kinds of theories. Some suggestions include: “Tick Tock” | “Kill the pack” | “Kill Her”. Then the Teen Wolf Tumblr had to go and turn everything on its head by saying that it’s not in English.

My head hurts so let’s move on to some symbols. The MTV teaser of the week is all about mysterious symbols. I’m too tired to decode symbols at the moment so if you guys could just let me know what these mean it would be awesome (btw they’re clutching at straws at the moment I wouldn’t read that much into it).

Also the cast is apparently in the midst of ADR according to these tweets and this image. This suggests that the Season 3 Part 1 is coming to the end of its primary photography and moving into postproduction. It’s all happening guys! This is exciting.

Finally there have been some real wolf siting’s! The first was Ian Bohen, who is looking very intense with a very happy looking wolf:

Then there was Tyler Hoechlin:

Seriously guys you have to warn a girl before you do that because my lady parts cannot handle this. Not only is that an adorable t-shirt and Derek jeans but with a wolf. Damn you Hoechlin you’re giving me kinks I didn’t even know existed. (Yeah I used that photo twice... what of it).

And I’m done. I’m just going to sit here and wait for something to actually happen… I have a feeling it’s going to take a while.

P.S. I went to see Iron Man 3 today and I think that Teen Wolf fans will be pleasantly surprised by an appearance by a certain law enforcement officer.
